A Monomyth is a pattern that every hero follow's in a story. This Monomyth is also known as a hero with a thousand faces. Luke sky walker in the movie star wars and spider man as well follow this epic hero Monomyth. In the epic hero Monomyth Luke and Spiderman both fulfills its journey but Spiderman makes the best role model. Luke Skywalker is an example of an epic hero monomyth because he follows the steps in a hero cycle. For example, he had a normal life on the farm bored with it for almost his entire teenage life (status quo).He then bought two droids which led him of receiving a message from princess asking obi-wan Kenobi for help. Luke didn't understand what the message was about, but he knew that she was in trouble and needed help (Call of Adventure). The next day one of his droids left to look for obi-wan Kenobi and went out which the other robot to find it.They didn't know that the sand people were stocking them, when Luke finally found the droid one of the sand people hit him with a stick and was about to k** him. That was when someone saved him, he didn't know who he was until they started talking about obi-wan Kenobi and the strange message Luke saw. So he review himself (Assistance), Luke took off to go back home and saw nothing but burnt houses and ashes. All the people and his home was destroyed. He had no choose but to leave his planet and find a new home and family (Departure). With his new companies Kenobi, the droids R2-D2 and C-3PO, Han Solo, and Chewbacca. They head to the Alderaan system where they expect to find the princess. The planet has been disintegrated and they soon find the cause. The d**h Star catches the Falcon in its tractor beam and the group is dragged on board. Evading the troops, Luke and friends discover that the princess, Leia, is in one of the prison cells. They hatch a plan to rescue her, and with her help, manage to all escape on the Falcon. All except Kenobi who sacrifices himself to Darth Vader to allow the escape (Approach). With the design plans of the d**h star safely on board inside R2-D2, they head to the Rebellion outpost in order to formulate an attack on the d**h Star. While flying an X-Wing fighter, Luke single handedly destroys the d**h Star (Trials). After seeing his master been k**ed by Dark Vader (obi-wan Kenobi) Luke was depressed, he was thing about it, how losing his family and he took him as his dad, and losing his teacher (Crisis).Eventually Luke was able to defeat Dark Vader and destroyed his space station(Treasure), Luckily Dark Vader was in other ship which he used to try and stop Luke from destroying his ship(Result). Was able to escape into deep space. After defeating Dark Vader and keeping his new home safe. Luke was rewarded with a medal (New Life). Luke then returns to his new family, the rebel alliance (Return). His new droids R2D2 is repaired and Han rejoins the group (Resolution).Status Quote; Luke is receiving a medal from Leia it calls back in the beginning when he received the message from her. My hero also uses similar hero cycle steps Luke Skywalker uses in the epic hero monomyth. Spiderman wan a normal kid in school, although he was unpopular didn't have super powers or anything. One day they went on a field trip to a science company where they experiment and do a lot of science stuff. While they were on the trip a spider bit him and everything changed. He got home feeling weird and pa**ed out in bed. The next day he woke up and was feeling energetic, happy, and could see without his gla**es. He went to school and could hear what everyone was talking about. Trouble found him, was able to humiliate a football player and was surprised himself. He was able to teach himself how to use his powers and controlled it. He liked a girl but was too shy to ask her out because he had no money and she was dating a kid who was rich and had a super-fast car. So he came up with an idea to buy a car and get the girl, he had no money. He asked his uncle to but he refused. He then signed up for a wresting competition to save up money to buy the car. One day he and his uncle went somewhere, he got out of the car and saw someone torturing his uncle. Instead of helping him he refused to because he didn't buy the car he wanted. It led to his uncle's d**h, he then felt the guilt how he could have help him to avoid his d**h. He then decided to become a super hero in New York City to save the people and revenge his uncle's d**h. Trouble found Spiderman when his professor was doing an experiment; him and a machine he built to control them using his mind. Suddenly it went wrong it turned out to be machine controlling him. It then made him do some criminal things and led to a war between him and Spiderman. Spiderman was able to defeat him and save the people of New York City. It was that, that caught the eye of the people and Spiderman made his name in New York. Spiderman was able to get the girls, but was only in love with the girl he liked in high school. Both of them are a great examples of an epic hero monomyth because of how it follow the steps in the cycle. Both of them are good role moles but Spiderman would a good role mole because of how he turns into something big to help people. Spiderman didn't get help from people unlike Luke Skywalker he uses himself to help himself out throughout his journey. Had to do something without anyone telling him what to do right and wrong. In Conclusion both of these make a great example of an epic hero monomthy. They may have some differences on how they began their journey and ended it.They share a similar characterizes like how it began fro them from the Status Quo,Call to adventure,a**istance, departure, trials, approach, crisis, treasure, result, return, new life, and resolution.
