Susan K. Rowse - A Worm and a Visine Bottle lyrics

In Father's own creativity He thought with awe each time His legacy was wisdom This man was genuine. Trout fishing was his respite His eight he taught with pride He was a shaman to us all With nature at his side. “If you borrow from this earth”, he'd say “You always give it back To make our world much better Give back what our world lacks.” He's take a Visine bottle Spit out the contents there Sterilize with caution Then bottle it with air. Our Dad was diabetic He'd add, “Use extra care.” He's clip off part the needle Then glue with ease right there. The needle atop the bottle It's base hot glued just right With pride he'd share this wisdom As an earthworm caught his sight. With long-tanned slender fingers Then as gentle as was able He'd pluck that worm with a gentle tug As around it's band he'd stable. Two fingers from our giant Dad A man of awe and wonder Insert the needle's eye just right Then press the Visine bottle. A puff of air was all he'd need As he made his whistle pucker The worm was placed upon a hook A Water-winged s**er! He'd slowly place his hands upon His trusted fishing rod With one swift swoosh the worm sailed out Assured by God's own nod. Just below the waterline Stilled shadows darted forth Broke foam and gulped this worm with air The hook did not abort. A mighty trout who'd spent his years Making fun of man Survival it's testimony Until Dad showed a creative hand. The fight was on and folks still tell This story to their kids About a man…a puff of air With his “Visine Blow-up Kit.” That trout was eaten late that night It tasted worth it's battle >From a man of God's own genius A worm and a Visine bottle
