Journal Entry six 9-18-13 I was reading The Color Purple. This is basically a diary or letters to God telling about a young lady and her struggles she goes through everyday. She has gotten molested by her step father. Her mother died so she was left in charge of her sisters. Her step father raped her leaving her pregnant twice, the first time he k**ed it and the second time he sold her baby. she has gone through a lot, but she puts up with it to protect her younger sister. she doesnt want her younger sister to go through the same thing she has gone through. She was beaten often by her step dad. she asked why are these things happening to her. this book is very interesting with great details about each situation she was in. The book had bad diction, but i think the reasoning is because of the time period they're in and very little education they had received at the time.
