He's on his way to school, looking out the window Listening to simple rhymes, in a limbo The bus stops, he gets off and becomes a minnow In a world full of sharks, so he just billows He takes his earbuds out, he fears, but doesn't shout When the kids who bully him seek him out In front of a big crowd and start talking about How he cowers and pouts when b**hes come around The crowd starts laughing, they slapping hands and trashing This little white kid, who's just standing there tapping His foot, maskin' his face, not letting them crack him He would try attackin', but no one would back him So he can only imagine what would happen His eyes tear, but he won't cry, he just runs away Trying to allay all his feelings of dismay Hoping to display toughness, though he's afraid He prays to exchange lives, but himself he remains He clenches he fist 'til he has whitened his wrist He can't stop his angry thoughts, though he tries to resist He twists around, and starts, slowly walking back to The bullies telling himself, "they can't attack you Without response, make them wish they never smacked you Then he sees their backs to him, he stops in his track to Ditch the idea and go straight to his cla**room The rest of the day goes by, each cla** is the same The rap game's in his brain, so he dont feel insane Blocking out the teachers, when they calling his name He dont get the best grades, but he doesn't feel shame He's just trying to dodge pain, and decrease his bloodstains He walks through the front door, and into a hectic house He takes one step in, now, he becomes skeptic 'bout His amount of stress, it's increasing rapidly With his family, there's no living happily His dad drinks absently, so he feels apathy The rest fight constantly, he's losing sanity They dont ask he he's doing, where his black eye's from But he don't care about them either, he just hides them From his thoughts, but sometimes, they're on the horizon And he thinks about them, but keeps his thoughts inside him Now listening to rappers talk about sh**ty Childhoods, he relates, though he's not from the city He's dreaming now, f**ing pretty girls, no more pity On him, cause he went from zero, to positive But his dream ends when his mom says he's not causative He goes to bed, wakes up, after nine hours Goes back to school, once he's done taking a shower Goes through the same sh**, still letting bullies power Over him, but no one sees his anger's rising Devising to fight back, but only despising His self - esteem's too low to make an uprising He does the usual and runs from his troubles Though he wants to crumble them, 'til they muzzled The day goes by slow, and he gets home finally Feeling anxiety, and anger entirely In his mind, so he goes into his room quietly He take anymore pain, so he just starts throwing Anything he can find, knowing he is going To be grounded but he don't care in this moment His mom comes storming in, screaming at him, pissed off At the damage to the house, but doesn't shift off And ask if he's okay, she just takes his phone and leaves No more rap for him, no more ways to relieve His pain, during school, at home, he's just left to breathe And let anger take him over, like a thieve Two weeks pa** and still everything has had no change But inside, he's starting to feel something strange More anger and pain, but he also feels deranged About this new emotion to not give a f** About what anyone said, it felt good and stuck He no longer took people's word for who he was He was going to define himself by what he does He comes home from school one day, and he's home alone Sits down, hoping his computer can atone For his anguish cause his heart feels like a stone He turns it on, and it lets out a groan, unknown 'til drums start, his mind says "pick up the microphone" He starts freestyling and gets put in a zone He could go for hours and barely be grazing His true emotion and why he lives life hating Himself, but his mom walks in as he is making A pun, he freaks out, and shuts off the computer He walks out of the room and begins to tutor Himself after he grabs a new pen and paper His computer plays beats, he becomes a chaser After his dream, all his idols have aquired He writes a song in an hour, and feels higher Than the bullies, himself he for once admires When recording his song, his written anger's ignited Scene looking like magic, and desire united Delighted with the song, he released it feeling excited He tells no one in his school, he lives life private Instead, he keeps to himself and remains quiet Through the next few months, it's only repetition Getting bullied, but still keeping the definition Of ambition, trying to keep his condition Positive, though most want no fruition For him, his life's got negative composition He only feels good when he's writing to fix hate Towards himself and make it sound like a mistake He writes everyday, hoping to make a mixtape And be just like his idols, when they first started But he wants to be better, and more cold hearted He's written all of his songs, and just needs to record He raps in the mic all night, and feels restored To before he was bullied, awkward and ignored Then he mixes the songs and drops it on March 4th His expectations for his tape were exceeded This kinda joy is something he really needed Because the same bullies, everyday repeated The same sh** because the boy never conceded But 3 weeks after the drop, someone heard a song They noticed it was him, hit 'share' and sh** went wrong Everyone heard it, but he didn't know all along He was just listening to beats and writing strong The the next days comes, and everything seems normal 'til he sees kids staring, and thinks 'this ain't formal' But he doesn't ponder, and looks out the window Of the bus, listening to rappers give info About being strong, f** anyone who hating He gets off the bus feeling like dominating Anyone who f**s with him, no more debating But this feeling goes away when kids start degrading His self esteem in front of another big crowd He starts to walk away, 'til he hears one of them shout A line that he made, it hits him so loud But he doesn't react, he just continues walking Away from it all, but the bully keeps talking Now his anger's peaked, he can't let him keep mocking His raps, so he turns around and socks him in the mouth He hits him so hard, he knocks him to the ground He almost knocked him out, but he's no longer bound To what the bullies had said he was, he broke the chain But not for long, cause the rest of the crew started to rain On top of him and started throwing punches at his brain But the boy was already happy with his gain Security had to come over to break up the fight And as he was lifted up, he swung once more to spite The crew who's always made him feel like he was worthless The crew who made him spit those cold - hearted verses The last punch he throws hits the leader in the throat He falls down, the boy spits in his face and goes To the office with bloodstains all over his clothes And he's finally proud of himself cause he fought back He takes the punishment, but nothing can crack His high, his contentment as a person He's proud to know his self - esteem cannot worsen Because he stood up for himself and won respect From his conscience, the man in his head can't affect Him no more, as well as any man on the map Cuz he destroyed his foes with the power of rap
