Sappho - The Love Songs of Sappho lyrics

This is a fragment from an excerpts from The Love Songs of Sappho. Sappho's school was dedicated to the teachings of Aphrodite and Eros. All of her poems were focused on love and devotion to the reader and the audience of both men and women. She is one of the few poets who rarely addresses the gods and only and only writes of only love. To me it seems that man has the fortune of gods, whoever sits besides you and close, who listens to you sweetly speaking and laughing temptingly. My heart. flutters in my breast whenever I can quickly glance at you I can say nothing my tongue is broken. A delicate fire. runs under my skis, my eyes see nothing, my ears roar, cold sweat rushes down me, trembling seizes me, I am greener than gra**. I myself seem needing little to die.
