Crofter on the Isle of Skye... That was twenty yeas ago, Just before the fateful day, When I had to leave my home, my family, And set off down the Brae. And so I came out here to the Americas, Determined to make my stand, But I'll tell you, Things didn't turn out the way I planned, I'm a stranger in a strange land. Stranger in a strange land... Stranger in a strange land. Stranger in a strange land... Yeah, a stranger in a strange land. Stranger in a strange land... Yeah, I'm a stranger in a strange land. Stranger in a strange land... I'm a stranger in a strange land. I'm a stranger. A Stranger in a strange land. Stranger in a strange land... Stranger in a strange land... Though I'm many, many miles from my home, I can see the snow-capped mountains of Skye. As a dream it all appears, Like rolling back the years, In answer to my heart's lonely cry. I have roamed throughout these lands for twenty years, From Buenos Aires to San Francisco Bay, And as the end comes ever near, It all becomes so clear, In Skye is where my heart will always stay. Though I'm many, many miles from my home, I can see the snow-capped Cuillins of Skye, As a dream it all appears, Like rolling back the years, In answer to my heart's lonely cry.
