oddFelix - In Front Of My House lyrics

For many, the dream is to stop working from eight to five, So I feel like I'm not awake, see, I do ten to two, So I'm home early enough to catch the most beautiful sights and the most interesting is right there in front of my house. I can't escape it, because my verandah is where I sit to the papers, So while my eyes are reading about plane crashes, EndSARS and congrats Biden, I steal glances at and jealously watch as half naked children play in the sand, Building cities in muddy grounds, caring for nothing. I'm here, I'm thinking, for real, thinking of when I'll get enough money to take a wife, Build my own house, maybe run to Canada and start living my dreams. But these children roll in the mud, never having to wash their clothes by themselves, No thoughts on how best to build a future, No plans on how to get a good old age. And even when their pockets go dey, they never go broke. Never having to worry about the bills and the fees. They just know that a three-square meal is sure, And they'll all have a roof above their heads, And sleep on a bed. Innocence shows even on the faces of the guilty among them, They live in a world, where reality without the lens of experiences is all they see, Where dreams can come true, where visions are treasures. I ask myself questions like: Did I really have to grow old? Could my parents not afford a solution? They should just have checked BabyCorp. So while they play as baby cops and baby thieves, I'm hoping that PuppyCo will teach them a lesson. But we all saw it to the end. Little children will always win, They'll always be little children and parents will love them. Anyone that tries to rebel gets 90 percent of his punishment on Facebook, And he'll answer for the remaining 10 in heaven when he comes face to face with the Book of Life. And the children, they're living life like they own it. Go on and disagree but I don't see your child as human if he does all you ask him to do. A child must be a rebel. Sneak out of the house to play and not eat when he's asked to, But minutes later would disrupt his mom's sleep while his hands point at his stomach. So checklist: Do you have to frown at your son before he washes the plates? Do you have to argue with him about going to school or not? Does he need motivation to do things for you? Do you have to bend him by bribing him with gifts? Congratulations. Your child is not a robot. And it looks like I'll be here for long as I expect no rise in my salary. And yes I wish I were one of them, But everytime I think of dancing in the dust that they raise, I look around and decide against it. Staying indoors is not an option. You see, I can't run from the appeal of watching these children when I know where they are. And my phone? My news feed is littered with photos of Throw Back Thursday. A longer story will reveal how an IG post sent my mind right into my children's reality. Time's gone and I'll never get it back. They say time waits for no man, but that was cool until it went without leaving me behind. Why did it have to carry me along? I don't even want to hear from you right now. I've heard enough. Hope you're having a great day today?
