It would certainly be an understatement to say that Miley Cyrus is an icon. But, in case you needed any evidence of that, she proved her icon status once again over the weekend when she effortlessly handled a wardrobe malfunction on-stage during a live New Year's Eve event – without missing a beat of her performance.
ICYMI, the 29-year-old hosted a special NYE concert with Pete Davidson, but her chainmail top came loose as she sang Party in the USA for the crowd. Noticing that she was seconds away from having a nip slip in front of the world, Miley grabbed her top and said: "Alright."
Continuing to sing, she walked to the back of the stage where she ditched the silver top in favour of an open-front, red blazer. Laughing the moment off, she changed the lyrics of her famous track, singing: "Get to the club in my taxi cab/Everybody's definitely looking at me now."
It wasn't long before fans took to social media to praise the star for how well she handled the potentially embarrassing malfunction. "It was iconic. She's so adaptable. A true professional," one fan said, with another adding "It's giving... the first iconic moment of 2022."
A third fan tweeted: "Miley Cyrus calling it and just tearing her top off on live TV and making it work like an absolute bad bitch is the exact energy I want in 2022."
Erm, we'll take a dose of the bad bitch energy too, please.
