Mr. Varnell - Creations essay lyrics

The Chinese and Greek creation stories are both similar and different in how they use literary archetype. The Chinese and Greek creation story has a hero archetype. In the Greek story, the battle ends when “They broke and ran, giving Zeus victory”-(Greek Myth). This explains that Zeus is fighting the titans so there can be peace. Also it shows that the titans are afraid of Zeus because now they know that he is stronger and smarter than they are. This proves that Zeus is a hero archetype in this Greek myth story. But in the Chinese story it shows that “ Pan Gu worried that heaven and earth mix again; so he resolved to hold them apart, with the heaven on the head and the earth under his feet”-(Chinese). Pan Gu push the heaven and earth apart is because he does not want no more chaos. So Pan Gu put heaven on his head and the earth under his feet until he grow taller when the earth would not mix again. Pan Gu explains the hero archetype. The Greek and Chinese creation stories also contrast, with the former having a epic battle and latter a garden archetypes. The Greek myth story has the epic battle because “Zeus faced the monster and flinging his lightning bolts was to k** it”-(Greek myth). Obviously the battle between the good and evil in this case Zeus is good who is fighting the evil the titans. Zeus and his brothers/sisters are facing the monster that was on the earth so there can be peace. “His arms and legs became the four directions and the mountains. His blood became the rivers, and his sweat became the rain and dew. His voice became the thunder, and his breath became the winds. His hair became the gra**, and his veins became the roads and paths. His teeth and bones became the minerals and rocks, and his flesh became the soil of the fields. Up above, his left eye became the sun, and his right eye the moon”-(Chinese). When Pan Gu die the earth became a new character so it can be a better place for the goddess Nu Wa and the humans of hers. The reasons why is a Garden archetype is because he made the earth better so who ever lives` in it will be in peace.
