K.E.Lewis - The Raven King's Lesson lyrics

You don't understand me. You never will. Are you okay with that? Am I? I tried to use your language, to express the world inside. But, the looks on every face inspires me to hide the truths that I have wrestled with angels to gain. Like the embrace of the insane ride: the ludicrous, luscious, journey. The d**h sentence of life. Ask not how I do these things; how I enveloped myself in thoughts. I can't explain the process's development, I know only what I have got. Yet, I know how I got here. There was a falling of the walls. Jericho, built over centuries, in seven days did crumble. The voices of humanity resonate with endless fears. "Don't stand apart," they taught me to fear with them. To fear myself. To fear my failings. To fear being forgotten. What is it that am I afraid of: Is it d**h, or being erased? I think, that at the heart of it, I fear the living. I fear the ride… fear the ride… fear the ride. Because it's scary isn't it? That everything is up to us. That we are responsible, what a terrible burden. If we fall, if we fail, what is there to catch us. What universal mother will bend down out of heaven and scoop us up to begin afresh? None. We must learn to bend down ,with warn out tools, and rebuild ourselves anew. Can we ever feel comfort's warm embrace in the knowing we are safe. Laying in a bed at dawn, my lazy eyes will open…. close…. open…. close….open…close…. So snug, the warmth of my blankets singing sirens songs to lull me back to sleep. Here, in this place; in this time, I am at peace. I can be comfortable. Lulled to sleep. The darkness grows ever deep. I must stay awake. It's indescribable: being free. The flight of the Raven King, a plummeting towards the crags, wings pressed firmly against breast. This is natures song, much simpler than we've made it. Outstretched wings will catch the wind and soon you'll soar again. Why, then, cower from the corybantic cascade? Pan's flute plays. The power is in the naming. Pejoration stationed this feral god's holy name with anxiety and nervousness, fright and trepidation. Terror; Hysteria; Dismay. PANIC. Those few that listen, those who refuse to merely hear, will dance: will transcend. Visages of divinity. I long to be divine. So do away with limits. Now, do away with fears. The years of our complacence. Reminisces treasured dear. The fall is certainly frightening. They says to jump is mad. Angels we've had dreams of with wings of white, silver, even gold, reflect our desires. The angels know the exultation, their freedom's found in flight. With breath drawn deep, I could take the leap, and join them in the night. So face Triumph with Disaster, and meet them both the same, for when they journey's over only the dreamers truly reigned.
