After adding a second guitarist and going through a succession of drummers, the lineup of the Maryland-based band stabilized and, a year later, they took the name Garden of Shadows and commenced to record demos. Selling through a decent run locally, the demos also drew solid reviews from fanzines. In 1998, they signed to X-Rated Records and, after adding a newly recorded track, reissued their original demos.
