Tomoki Sukezane has worked as a menswear stylist in Japan for several years, becoming quite a force within the country's cutting-edge fashion world. The stylist and designer gets his inspiration from many sources, like movies, fine arts and everyday life. For Sukezane, it all links to styling. G-Star and Sukezane have joined forces to share their pa**ion for denim and craftsmanship in a unique denim design. In September 2012, visitors to G-Star stores can find the limited edition Radar pant, customized by the menswear specialist. For this collaboration, Sukezane created a personal, modern interpretation of the Radar. To start, he modified the fit of the Radar into a unis** design with a hyper-tapered leg, and created a special cropped length variation for the Japanese market. Then, he chose a new denim from G-Star, the 13 oz. Red Listing Berryl denim. Red Listing denim is woven from a single thread on a vintage shuttle loom to produce a heavy, tightly woven denim. Dyed in red cast indigo, the Red Listing is textured with an irregular warp slub and visible white weft that that wears beautifully over time. The Red Listing is identifiable by its red thread at the cuff when worn with a turn-up. Finally, Sukezane's variation on the Radar uses detailed embroidery on the pocket detail, and also to replace the leather patch, where G-Star's logo combines with his own. Fortunately you don't have to travel to Japan to find a pair. The G-Star RAW and Sukezane Limited Edition Radar will be available in Paris (Gallery Lafayette) and London (Selfridges), and in the online G-Star shop.
