When you are writing an essay you are supposed to include 4 important things. The 4 things are a topic sentence, concrete details, commentary, and a concluding sentence. When you are writing a topic sentence you have to write everything that you will be describing later in you essay. When you have are writing a concrete detail its purpose is to support the topic sentence. Concrete details are evidence that that support your point. Commentary in an essay is your an*lysis or what you think about the text. Your concluding sentence is when you are restating what you said in your topic sentence or restating the main idea.
