Formed in Toronto in 1969 by organist/vocalist Walter Zwolinsky (aka Zwol), Brutus gradually included guitarist Sonny Wingay, ba**ist Sandy White, drummer Len Sembaluk, Bruce Gordon (trumpet, organ, guitar, ba**) and Bill Robb (saxophone, trombone). After two early singles, the band signed to GRT and released a self-titled debut in 1975.
