Ashen Mortality got together in 1993 between former Seventh Angel member Ian Arkley (guitar/vocals) and Melanie Bolton (keyboardist/vocalist). Accompanied by ba**ist Tim Cooper and drummer Brian Jones, the Birmingham-based quartet debuted their hybrid of black metal and goth on their self-released demo within months of their formation.
