(Verse 1)
I was overseas in Ireland, studying in Derry
It was only a short course, so my time was very
Limited, the schedule was written very rigorous
But something special happened, so I bet you'll get a kick of this
October 27th, 2011
It was a sunny day, blue skies felt like heaven
I had to take a cla** at the University
That was more challenging than any in my first degree
I walked through the door looking for a place to sit
I saw an open seat and I knew that this was it
I was right next to the flyest student in the cla**
And this was an opportunity I didn't want to pa**
She was a beautiful brown-eyed girl from the UK
With Sri Lankan roots. Ooh, I wanted to play
S-A-R-R-I, her name was Sarri
And we hit it off so fast, the sh** took off like a Ferrari
(HOOK)
I'm sorry for the wait, but patience is a virtue
We clicked from the jump, and I refuse to ever hurt you
We met in the morning, got together in the evening
She hurts so much cause tomorrow I'll be leaving
You've got a beautiful mind, a beautiful heart
We felt a strong connection right from the very start
If the stars are in line and fate is in our favor
Don't think of it as goodbye, it may only be "see you later"
(Verse 2)
We made plans and got together for a drink
The comedy show was postponed, we had to think
About what to do instead, so we went to the pub
We had a couple pints and headed down into the club
She was kinda shy, but was still down for dancing
A casual first step to an evening of advancing
They shouted "last call", so we went for a walk
Across the Peace Bridge, holding hands in the dark
We talked about the future and our plans to change the world
And if we had more time I bet you she could've been my girl
But I'm leaving in the morning, so we strolled back to her place
Boiled up some tea and talked about the human race
The feelings were in place, way beyond something so casual
We saw each ourselves in one another and it felt so natural
It was just one day, how could she be the perfect match?
I guess I'll never know, because I had a plane to catch. (Damn!)
