[Intro]
I remember there was a place...
On the pier... I think it was an arcade...
I remember it like it was yesterday
Every detail, every moment...
[Verse 1]
It was on a pier on a beach in the west
I remember it was my favorite place, the best
When I first step in, it felt like my jaw dropped
It looked like I was in heaven, I was in shock
All the pinball machines and the rollerball games
And I played everything until I became strained
The Neon lights surrounding every square inch
And the Flashing lights so vivid, I had to squint
My mind stimulated, really felt like a substance
Getting the high score, man I really love this
Mashing the bu*tons, I never felt this focused
Life ain't over but I think this is my magnum opus
So years later when I decide to go in my car
I live in the east so the drive was really far
I arrived at the pier, and what did I see?
I saw the same old arcade and it's ready for me
[Prelude]
My heart was racing...
Every step I took...
But I knew it was worth it...
For this place was glory...
[Verse 2]
I stepped in, and then I close my eyes
Then I opened them, and I realized
This place didn't look the same as before
It looks worn down like the 98 cents store
The screens are dim, the neon lights ain't bright
And it looks shady, I'm probably gonna die tonight
I walked around, almost half the place was gone
There was nothing there, I guess my a**umption was wrong
Whatever happened to the days when things were the same?
Because that's what I remember in my brain
People interacting with each other just having fun
Now all the modern advancements have rendered that done
Nostalgia is tricky, it makes you believe
That the past is something worth reliving
Even though the world moved on to the future
You can't easily escape what you're used to...
