The scene fades in, it's a story of a prisoner
Bound by the chains of his life, soul prisoner
The weight of the chains always kept his head down
And he couldn't even turn his own frown upside down
He tried so many times but failure was his exit
Sundays, he's enlightened and he does get the message
The only thing is his confidence, nearly damaged and shot
Sometimes he can't get spiritually high because it's blocked
By his own flesh, whether he knows it or not
Execution was too slow so he had a rough start
Some of the names of the chains is familiar to some
Others got thru while others were mentally done
Right side was the lust he had for the women
Left side was the envy of his homies gettin' women
Around his neck was confusion that seemed to cloud his mind
Sometimes gettin' indulged in his fantasy mind
He had dark places which he wanted to escape from
The Devil thinks he got him good and thinks he's done
Well, he couldn't be more wrong cause that man has victory
Just like Revelations where Jesus has the victory
Hope begins to dawn in the back of his brain
Faith starts to rise above the dark flames
Inner man fully powered up like a Power Ranger
New and improved like history from the manger
To the Crucifixion where everything got buried
The challenges in his life wasn't no longer scary
As the light shines on his newborn spirit
The binds begin to break as he's in good spirits
The man said Thank You to his Most High Creator
Forever grateful to his Father, not doing him a favor
A smile on his face, now there's no need to pretend
Because his life long suffering has come to an end
[Chorus]
No chains on you, no chains on me
Live for tomorrow, time to set yourself free
Together we will fight for (freedom)
Time for you to fight for your (freedom)
No more sufferin' (freedom)
No more cryin' (freedom)
No more givin' up (freedom)
Time to get your head up (freedom)
