The Pennsylvania forest
Was woven like a Rainsong guitar.
Paul Simon can have Graceland;
I am staying far north,
Home of my birth and divorce.
Course I don't remember either anymore,
But friends will remind me about them.
I stay more for future than the past,
I stay for I know I'll never last
Away from mountains, and
Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Kentucky.
I guess I admit that we got lucky.
The Pennsylvania forest,
For voyagers and foragers alike.
Foresters, encouragers of life.
And in between the trees you see
Trailer parks and parks and factories.
Lying dormant seeds of long-dead dreams.
Course I don't believe in leaving anymore,
But people remind me it happens.
I stay more for future than the past,
I stay for I know I'll never last
Away from mountains, and
Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Kentucky.
I guess I admit that we got lucky.
This is my town,
It's a coal town
Like many old towns in this state.
This is my town,
Not yet a ghost town.
And you can get out
If you don't wanna stay.
I have my say,
I'm here today,
I'm here to stay.
Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Kentucky
I guess I admit that we got lucky
