Toast, the outro. Fitting that after all these records and stories and lyrics and issues within the project, we take a step back reflect on the outro. Toast was also one of the last records made on the tape. It was made during the ‘single' fishing phase The Trackoholics went to. Once I recorded the record I felt like it was good. Maybe too good. I still feel like this is one of the records that's bigger than me, though it's so me
“You wouldn't guess that I'm living check to check
Enjoying life man I'm living breath to breath
One foot at a time man I'm living step to step”
This record is like, my commercial resume. I feel like you can play this at your job, and though different from what I'm a custom too, I'm happy about it. Your mom likes this song
“But the goals is way further, trying to places in spaces you never heard of”
So after speaking about going dutch on drinks, I step and reflect about whats really the goals. Where I wanna be and envisioning how I'm going to get these
The hook sells it to me, it just feels like the Superbowl. The Trackoholics really spear headed the release of this. They saw something in the record that I didn't. I'm well aware it's not a big record right now, but I can promise it'll end up one of my biggest records eventually
The Video
Boy, let me tell you about the ha**le. In fact, I won't. This video only took about 4 hours to shoot. This is the great thing about NY. The whole city is your video studio, so I had to take advantage of it. After unsuccessfully trying to get actors, I ended up calling some friends for the video. The treatment I came up with, and the whole 6 degrees of separation - esque aspect is my favorite part of the video. (also, buying a pregnancy test is mad awkward). Once again big shout out to Big Gucci Paris, I owe her. She came through so clutch for this video
Tip: if you look close, you can see I have on Timbs with my suit. If you rewind to I Want In, you can see the same. Two things factor into that, one, my tailor really screwed my pant cut. Two, it's symbolic. Homeless Millionaire and a crispy suite with Timbs go hand and hand
And that's it folks. The full 360, Happy Hour. The ups, downs, ins and outs of the records on here. I really hope you enjoyed and thank you if you been following this whole 12 step program
One big shout out to: The Trackoholics, Llama, Paris. Couldn't have put this vision together without you guys man
We been pushing for a year, and as you see, we go a lot of more ears to reach, lets do it. Love
