Martin x Malcolm
Everyone who reviewed this album said this was one of the standouts. Martin (x = &) Malcolm. Remember in day 2 I said I had 3 artist in mind for this project? Well Wreck was a part of that. Super talented producer/mc and we got a chance to work previously in spots but I knew I needed him for something else
This concept came in the middle of making the album. I realized, that unlike my last effort, No Barcode, I didn't have any records just rappin. Lyics and just the ability to rap is so important to me so one of those are needed. For some reason, I thought of the catch phrase ‘I go from Martin to Malcolm real quick' as a remix to ‘0-100', it was one of those things where I needed to place it somewhere
That mixed with Wreck having an ill a** rap voice as oppose to me having a regular as voice was kind of the Martin x Malcolm ying-yang. Different but effective. (not comparing us to them, just the style dynamic)
“The Brain so precious, only a fool puts no effort
Into filtering what it stores”
Man, that's just true. People will take the internet and certain memes and post it as truth with no research. I feel it's so easy to spot bs. If you can't, google is always free. Being that the media is the main source of how people craft opinions on things and situations, you'd think people would be a little more mindful of the things they believe, knowing a lot of things are put out their to push agendas. That being said, people are as gullible now as ever and I find that so crazy
Wreck verse, y'all heard it, it's amazing. He took bits and pieces of what I was saying, message wise and went full force. I can't tell you how happy I was getting it back and he did what I knew he'd do to it, demolish
The Video
Another one, I wanted to do something different. I knew I was going to Florida and had to make it happen. I was working with a new director so I didn't wanna do anything too crazy because it takes time to build that chemistry and trust. The background and slide show idea I came up with, and the homie Karl executed it perfectly. Now, if you look closely and match up the slides with our lyics, some of them coincide with each other and that's not coincidence either, I wanted that
Wreck got the director, we shot the video the 1st full day I was in FL. 3-4 hour shoot. My Mansa-Musa Hockey Jersey was iconic, Wreck had the Malcolm gla**es on, it came out dope. I really just wanted to do something for the fans and people who love the record honestly and it came out better than expected
