Peel away the ragged skin,
Frail memory slips to grey,
Continues to drift through restless days.
Your softly spoken earthly tones,
Seep through the walls in me,
Familiar blue, the flooded sea.
All alone, with all beside,
Waiting on your warmest light.
The waning words, the crumbling sun,
Tomorrow's blur, the threads undone.
The hazy glow of nervous hands,
And brightly colored lace,
A brief candle sway left in it's place.
The remedy, a fleeting thought,
In light can't bear to see,
All of the loss that's left to me.
