your deepest and darkest dreams
shown in the light of distant moonbeams
lost in the depths of our minds
left you alone to choke on the rinds
your memories you've covered with lace
an opaque past you don't want to face
a past that's left your skin scarred
flames of pain that left your heart charred
your mind glazes over in a cloudy haze
you keep running circles in a lonely maze
over time you start to realize
the sadness that crept in your eyes
the daydreams you created as a child
behind the trash they now are piled
everywhere you look you're filled with fear
why is it always the same every year
maybe sometime. maybe someday
maybe soon you won't feel this way
but for now you're caught in the cold downpour
until your very soul starts to feel sore
until you lose your mind and go insane
but still you stay and sit in the rain.
