it was just you and me. together, against the world. i had your back, you had mine. always running from the truth, not sure of what was waiting for us
running
searching
fleeing
we stuck together, us two. ever since the beginning, when the world turned us away and we had nothing but each other
cold
scared
alone
but we found the light. it was there, waiting for us to find it. when it touched our skin, when it
washed over us, we were

it rained down on us and we bathed in it. filling us with ecstasy we
leapt screamed
laughed
never wanting it to end. but when the big black dot covered up the light we could only
leap scream
cry
it suffocated the light, and so too did we. gasping for air, for the joy the light brought, we slowly withered

ground down into dust, becoming one with the Earth again. we were no longer
cold
scared
alone
we were no longer
running
searching
fleeing
we were waiting to be born
again
