You ask me what I'm thankful for?
Then hear me when I say
I pause and all my blessings count
On each and every day.
I'm thankful I can hear the sounds
Of birds that fill the sky,
Observe their graceful movements
As they pa** me flying by
I love to smell the ocean breeze
When I am near the sea
To squish the sand between my toes,
Watch waves roll in to me.
I enjoy the warmth of a sunlit day,
A clear and star-filled night.
And from a lighthouse miles away,
Watch warning beams of light
I'm awed by the handiwork of God
His natural gifts surround me,
And I am thankful every day
For miracles that astound me.
I'm thankful that I have desire
Still toward a goal to strive.
I'm thankful for the years I've lived,
Thankful just to be alive.
I'm thankful for the obstacles,
The hardships, tears and pain,
Which help me better appreciate
Each lesson of life I gain.
I'm thankful for the love of God,
His helping hand to guide me.
His nourishing of my living soul
That ever abides inside me.
