I'm Still Standing
Reisa L. Gerber
Way back in '85,
I was filling out forms.
The mood was light, and hearts were warm.
I was working the dayshift,
Some tired ol facility,
When some old friend of mine decided on my
Incredibility.
Chorus:
'Cuz I'm still standing, yeah,
I'm still in the wings,
And he's out there fighting still,
And all I do is sing.
But G-d help him to overcome
These awful things he knows.
It's all that anyone knows,
All that anyone knows.
With the money that I got back
From my income tax returns,
I had money in my pocket,
And I still had some to burn-
I bought myself a V.C.R.
With 225 bucks-
When you're out of money, you know,
You're simply out of luck!
I worked five months and then I ducked,
Safe in the arms of the law,
Concurrent disability with wages
..."someone saw!"
So I would like to let his justice cry out
in the end...
Peace of mind is like a pillow
An honest man sleeps on!
...Excuse me...
Chorus:
I would like to submit "I'm still Standing".
Thankyou.
If you're not interested, please find a way to
let me know politely at this point.
Thankyou.
