Geek
Fatty
Stupid
Ugly
These are the names we've gonna by
These are the labels labeled on our foreheads like a "Hello My Name Is" nametag
But we'll get over it
Now, maybe there's something wrong with me
Maybe I don't see the world for what it truly is
But whenever I try to explain my pain
You look at me and say "get over it"
Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me
That's not true
Whoever said that hasn't had their nametag yet
Because for some reason
A kid calling me fatty and saying I don't deserve to live
Hurt more than the rock he threw at me two seconds later
But get over it
"No one likes a downer
Put on your mask
Hide your life
And go back to the freak show where you came from"
Because that's what we are
The freaks
The weirdos
The unwanted
Bearded ladies and lobster claw boys
Standing there waiting to be laughed at
Singing soft songs of seperated sounds
Sounds of pain
Sounds of fear
Sounds of carnival music in the background
They're laughing at us
But we'll get over it
Her mother neglected her
She had a father but he was crazy
Her ears filled with the hatred from his new wife
Bruises from abuse
Scars from cutting herself
But somehow she was driven mad front eh words of her stepmother
Rather than the very hands that were beating her to d**h
He was not loved
The only relationship he was in was manipulative
His so called girlfriend said he wasn't good enough
And for two years he thought he wasn't good enough
And somehow being called dirt
Hurt more than the bearings he took by the lockers every day
Resulting in two black eyes
Three knocked out teeth
And a broken arm
So yes
Sticks and stones will break my bones
And yes
Words will hurt me you and everybody
More than anything
And I refuse to believe that some rich kid
Who doesn't have to worry about these very words
Can have the audacity to look at me and say
Get over it
We can't get over it
Because it's impossible to do by ourselves
Telling us to get over it Without telling us how to get over it does nothing
So let me tell you
We will not retaliate
We will defend
We will break down barriers of stereotypes and hatred
Because they can't fortify them
They just know how to erect them in the first place
We will face our foes without a fraction of forgotten feelings
When they come to laugh at our freak show
We will guard eachother
We will stand like a tree
And when they tell us to move
We'll say "no! We're not moving! Get over it!"
