What is a Epic Monomyth ? It may just be a hero doing a job or someone playing a big role. These steps show if your hero is a true hero with his custom on and off. You want the hero you choose to be a hero that can also be your role model. There 12 steps to doing this monomyth and the character must fulfill all 12. Well, I`ll help you understand and give you some examples. Luke Skywalker fulfills the epic hero monomyth by succeeding all 12 steps during his quest. Luke was a boring kid that did nothing but help on the farm. He always wanted to leave his home and go on a journey. He would sit and play with his action figures and imagine he was flying a ship fighting against some enemies. Right after he was playing with his figures he sees a clip of a girl in need of help and he thinks she is very attractive. He gets called to help the girl and is flown to his new location. He battles with some people that are holding her hostage. He defeats all of them and now has to go against his biggest enemy Dark Vader. He is losing at first but then gains his confidence and defeats him. After he saves the girl the girl they head to the ship to leave and on the ways there see some more enemies and Lukes loses his friend Obi-Wan. After they destroy d**h star they go back home and Luke is trying to get Obi-Wan fixed up. Luke says how much he misses Obi-Wan. Lukes at the award ceremony has now become more mature and grown up. R2D2 gets repaired and is back to normal. Luke receives an award from Leia. The Green Lantern fulfills the epic monomyth by succeeding all 12 monomyth steps. He started off as an airmen and worked every morning. One day during the job he see`s a crash into the ground. He`s goes to see is the person in the craft okay. The man in the craft give the guy a ring and says your are the chosen one. You have been choosen to save the universe. The man goes home after and puts on the ring and gets flown to space to the man in the craft planet. The people on the planet gives him his mission. He fights one of the men on the planet so that he can learn how to use the powers in the ring. After he learns he looks for his enemy. He finally finds his enemy and his enemy is holding his girlfriend hostage. He fights the enemy but is losing at first because of his lack of confidence. His girlfriend tells him he can do it so he starts to try his best and defeats his enemy. He wins his girl back and gets thanked by the people in the city.
Luke Skywalker fulfills a better role model than the green lantern because of his leadership and friendship. Luke does everything he is told without catching a attitude or complaining. He leads his team all the way through the mission and out. He was always their for his friend he made sure Obi-Wan was doing good after the fights and he try his best to get Obi-Wan back alive. In Conclusion, both characters fulfills the epic hero monomyth. Luke plays a good role in what he does. He not just a good role model during the battle even when he wasn't. The Latern played a good role off and on duty too. He was helping the world on bout sides when he wasn't a super hero and when he was that's why I choose these two characters.
