When the curtains have long been drawn around
And the candles throw their amber shadow
Between the oak portraits and hollowed things surround
The fire sheds it's warming glow
To warm this peaceful house where so few go
It will soon be light, we sat up all night at Luxford Hall

When the spring's first broke it's brakes, the ground
Where the frost has gone and summer's on it's
Way to bring the magic carpet flower display
The ball game on the sloping lawn
I'll watch the doves come home to a dew soaked pond
And it all seems right, in the morning light of Luxford Hall
