Bonded by mutual love
Escaping their own loneliness,
The future journey they both sought
To evermore spread happiness.
Wealth pa**ed them by, they worried, not,
Ill health had too much say,
Regardless ever forward
A helping hand they gave each day.
In many forms that hand was offered
A tender smile, kind word, or prayer,
Or simply just being available
To listen, and to care.
So little was on offer
Sometimes just the human touch,
To the lonely it was magnified
And it meant so much.
New friendships then were formed
Each helping the other in many ways,
All loneliness disappeared
To reveal many happy days.
