Such a simple arrangement
Now settled there,
In one hanging basket
That swings in the air.
On the edge of an arbour
Flowers brighten my day,
Busy Lizzies (Impatiens)
Have much to say.
They talk with colour
As they spread into a sphere,
I can almost hear them
When the dew sheds a tear.
The softness of pastels
Intermixed with magenta in pairs,
As companions they thrive
Above all earthy cares.
All through the season
They are in complete harmony,
Without one thought at all
Of the pleasure they`re giving me.
In the chill of the autumn
Each plant sadly will die,
I`ll then feel the need
To say, thank you, goodbye.
