There is never a reason and I always would pine
If one foot should step on a flower of mine.
Early crocus so lowly have spread everywhere
Now cuddled up with snowdrops
Who are happy to share.
Primrose and violet will aim to keep warm
Under a bush away from a storm.
Daffodils have no such care
They form a crowd on my lawn
And hang around there.
Tulips join in when they come along
With their vivid colours appearing so strong.
They only all visit a few weeks each year
Till the bluebells arrive and continue to cheer.
I`m just their servant to see to all needs
To feed and protect them and clean out the weeds.
