There's a half moon above the tumbling clouds.
The road is dark and wet.
Silent forest to the right of me
Cold water to my left
Cold water dark and restless
Beyond the wind-blown trees.
Half an hour or more now, to the door
I'm fumbling for the keys.
And in the morning sunlight fills the room
Spills across the floor
Coffee in the kitchen
Bright flowers 'round the door
Late at night there's candlelight
And a window on the west
Lights across the harbour
In this town I love the best
I found the sweet spot….
Now my footsteps bring me
Where as a child I stood
Sweet fern uncurling to the sky
Sweet mayflower in the wood
West wind on the water
The day is cool and fair
Black tea on a driftwood fire
Sweet woodsmoke in the air
I found the sweet spot…
Across the miles I miss you love,
And hold you in my heart
From the moment I first saw you
I loved you from the start
All the years that went before
I knew what I had missed
That night beneath your porch light
That night that we first kissed.
I found the sweet spot…
Never wanted fame or money.
(Well maybe not that much…)
I want your smile I want that kiss
I need your healing touch
I want that look that's in your eyes
When I look back at you
Want to find that sweet spot
Find it here with you….
