I was watching some NBA games last night and saw the NBA 2k14 commercial with the infectious KRS-One sample that's been stuck in my head for weeks. It got me thinking about other great Hip Hop ads. As Hip Hop and pop culture have become intertwined over the last few decades, the genre has continued to be used by advertisers to get our attention and add a certain "grittiness" to their campaigns. Do they use it to target a certain segment of the population? Sure. But as the late philosopher T. Shakur once penned, "I ain't mad at cha".
