New York transplants Mark Ingram (aka Desmond/Spaced Out Kid Humanoid) and Vanessa Josti-Crossover (aka Verona/Darling-Starchild) formed the duo Crossover, a fun-loving electro-pop outfit, in 1998. Somewhat different from the clinical productions and detached vocal stylings of labelmate Miss Kitten, Fantasmo featured lower-fi productions with buoyant vocals.
