Her eyes, blind as injustice
From the burning light in the box
Out of sheer desperation
But it worked, she is now free at last
Yet she's been cast
To play the rogue
Her eyes can't see things as before
Her eyes can only see emanations of light and shadow
Shades of good and evil
And shades of bitter life and d**h (life and d**h)
Gifted, unaware of how she
Has become a beacon of light
Cold [she stares], faint [she walks]
Lost [in expanding fields]
Looking for something to
Dine[sometime], pick[something]
Ingest [now that freedom tastes] bittersweet
Searching for light, for harmony
In shadows, in pure obscurity
The idle predator dresses in white
'Til the prey walks across its ravenous sight
When the calm emanation of white turns to black
And it pounces the prey that will never fight back
Her hungry eyes remain set
On the hills of her overwhelming and crushing freedom
When she discovers a faint but luscious smoke
Rising up the horizon
Running as fast as the wind through the meadow
Lost in the blessing of longing and hope of a change
Someone somewhere must be willing to
Finally take her in
She reaches the luscious smoke
And finds a tribe of barbarians glowing in white
And one in particular lending a much needed hand
No longer alone, no longer oppressed
No longer engulfed by fearful unrest
She stands by a fearless protector at last
Hoping the huntsmen will share their crest
Hoping she'll become one of their own
Hoping they'll take her in as one of the rest
