Essay The Genesis and Greek creation stories have both similar and different literary archetypes. Both the Greek and Genesis have the father vs Son archetype “This gave Zeus the opportunity to slip Cronus the specially prepared drink''. This shows the father vs son between Zeus and Cronus are trying to defeat each other for power. Zeus was able to slip a drink to Cronus to throw up the rest of his children to they can help Zeus fight Cronus(Greek creation). “So God expelled Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden”. This shows another father vs son fight between God and Adam because Adan didn't obey God order. God told Adam not to eat from the tree of life but Adam eat from it any way(Genesis creation). Both of them show a smaller person vs a big person with more power .In this case its father vs son like Cronus vs Zeus or god vs Adam.
The Greek and Genesis have a lot of contrast with each other of the villain archetype. Both of the creation stories have the villain archetype. “Cronus swallowed each of his children as they were born''. This is a good archetype of a villain because he swallowed all his children to get ride of them. Cronus did this because he didn't want one of his children over throw him (Greek creation). “You won't die. God knows that the moment you eat from that tree you'll see what's really going on”. That's another good example of a villain archetype. The serpent fooled Eve into eating from the tree which God told them not to eat from at all(Genesis creation). Both the Cronus and the serpent are villains because they tried to fool or k** people. Both are trying to gain power or take people out to help them in there evil goals.
