[Bill Maher] You seem very hard on President Obama. [Dr. Cornel West] It's out of deep love, brother. [Maher] You called him a war criminal. [West] I'm telling the truth. [Maher] We've got two Republicans on the panel, and you hate him worse than they do. [West] It's not a matter of hating him. I pray for him and his family and for their safety. The question is, you got two hundred children who have been k**ed by bombs dropped by US drones under Barack Obama. I called Bush a criminal, a war criminal, and he only had 45 drones. Barack Obama's had 400 drones. The tears of those parents. Because, you see, I'm a Jesus-loving free Black man. That means that a child in Yemen, Somalia, and a child in Pakistan has the same value as a child in Newtown, Connecticut, Southside Chicago, Chinatown, barrio and an Indian reservation. A child is a precious child, no matter what. Somebody's got to be accountable for that. [Maher] But would you agree that Obama didn't do it for sh**s and giggles?
[West] It's not just Obama. It's Hillary Clinton in on this, Brennan that's in on this. Those are war crimes. Those are war crimes. [Maher] The only president who never fired a shot was Jimmy Carter. I always give him credit for that. Jimmy Carter was the one had the balls to say, ‘We are the most powerful country in the world but don't have to drop bombs.” [West] Well, he was still head of the empire. We probably have to do research on that. Central America, Central America. [Matt Lewis] Andrew Jackson was a war criminal for what he did to Native Americans. [West] Absolutely! [Matt Lewis] Reagan was a war criminal. FDR for the internment of the Japanese. [West] Truman dropped the bomb on innocent people in Japan. [Maher] What president isn't a war criminal? [West] Probably the one, Calvin Coolidge sleepin' all day, didn't know what was going on! If you have an empire you gonna have some war crimes, that's all.
