Both the stories are similar is many ways. They both had villains; the villain archetype is someone/something that opposes the hero. The myth's villain was Cronus; the creation story's villain was the serpent. Both committed wrongful acts that needed to be punished, and they did get punished. In the end, the heroes from both the myth and story gave the villains what they deserved.
The rivalries in the myth and story are both different. The myth contained a father/son rivalry; a father/son rivalry is when a father and son despise each other. For example, Cronus and Zeus despised each other, thus leading to an epic battle. The story contained a sibling rivalry; a sibling rivalry is when one or more of the siblings despise each other. For example, Cain despised Abel, thus leading to k**ing Abel.
