In this book, Fear Of The Dark , A man named Paris Hilton owns a book store in South Central L.A. in the 1950's. He is an isolated black man who would rather run from a confrontation the be in one. Ironically he is encountered with dangerous and desperate men, and even women very often. Mostly because of his a**ociation with Fearless Jones, Fearless is a troublesome man who always manages to get out of sticky situations. Sometimes Fearless will ask Paris for help, and since he has saved Paris life more then twice, he always lends Fearless a hand. The only person Paris does not want to have any dealings with is his annoyingly troubled cousin, Uysless S. Grant. A lot of he relatives refer to him as "Useless", considering his qualities.
