This is a poem for your beautiful daughters You stand out among all the other potters (if any) And it's needless to say, that these vessels you've made Are indeed a job well done, so Well done But one thing though Enable me to treat them with the honor and respect they deserve Cos many a times, I tend to ignore the “handle with care” label That comes with the package from you Please Help me to see that they are more than just parts To cherish them and appreciate that they have hearts That are delicate, and not meant to be broken Tender, yet heavyweight.... So I don't want to take this lighlty I want to be able to look into their eyes and see it brightly, shine Showing the reflection of your own beauty.... And let it be my duty To serve your daughters I mean every single one of them From the youngest to the oldest Not to seek what I can get from them But to try my best to add to them Cos only then, can the equation be balanced And to put selflessness in the mix In order to beat all odds Even if others think it's somewhat odd “Behold ...they are made of gold” And I could testify that a lot of work needs be done To unearth these treasures... Gems! They must be precious, in your sight And it's for the same reason they are in mine But Who could resist these queens? Not me, I'll confess But then again, I'll confess That more work needs to be done in addressing them as such They are your daughters! Our sisters, Aunties, and Mothers Found on every corner, of the globe A toast should be made, I suppose To celebrate your daughters... But the greatest honor that could be given them Is to indeed see them as your daughters...
